The game

What is Summertale?

Summertale is a cozy, side-scrolling farming RPG set in a medieval fantasy world shared by humans, Fae, and beastfolk. You'll look after your farm, get to know people across several towns, and explore the different places they call home.

What do you do in the game?

You take care of your family's old farm: grow crops, raise animals, and turn your harvests into things to sell or use. You can also fish, forage, craft, furnish the farmhouse, and explore the world.

There are several towns to visit, where you'll meet humans, Fae, and beastfolk. Each community has its own customs, and the people you meet have their own work, family troubles, and reasons to care about where they live.

Who's making it?

We're a small independent team. You can meet the people working on the game on our About page.

The story

What's the story about?

The world's towns and cities are home to humans, Fae, and beastfolk, with different customs and ways of living. The Fae's ancient city grew around a magical tree, while the beastfolk learned to farm in a distant desert. In some places these communities live comfortably alongside each other; in others, old mistrust remains.

Much of the world's magic has faded, and people disagree about how to care for the land they share. As you explore and get to know them, you'll learn how their histories connect and why the remaining magic matters to their lives.

Your own story begins when you come home from the city for the summer. An argument with your father leaves you taking care of the family's neglected farm. Restoring it brings you closer to your neighbours and uncovers a history that reaches well beyond your hometown.
