Community Guidelines

The Summertale community should be a welcoming place to talk about the game, share what you make, ask for help, and give feedback. These guidelines apply everywhere we run a community space.

Be respectful

Treat others with kindness. Disagreement is fine; harassment, intimidation, and personal attacks are not.

Not allowed

• Harassment, hate, or discriminatory abuse.
• Threats, or encouraging violence or self-harm.
• Sharing others' private information (doxxing).
• Sexual or graphic content.
• Impersonating staff, developers, or other members.
• Spam, scams, piracy, or malware.
• Posting others' work as your own.
• Evading a ban or abusing the reporting system.

Use spoiler tags for story details and mark threads clearly. Let people discover the story for themselves.

How enforcement works

We aim for the least severe effective response, and explain formal actions in plain language. The usual path is: a friendly correction, a private note, a formal warning, a temporary restriction, a temporary suspension, and — for severe or repeated harm — a permanent ban. Serious cases such as scams, malware, doxxing, or credible threats may skip steps.

Appeals

Most actions can be appealed, and where possible an appeal is reviewed by someone other than the original moderator.
